Speak-offs begin in the schools in February and March. The winners will then attend their district Concours in March and April, and the winners of the district will go on to the Provincial finals that will be held at Leo Hayes High School in Fredericton on Saturday, May 14th. Registration will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Opening Ceremonies will be at 12:30 p.m. and the speech competition for all grades will run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Closing Ceremonies and Awards Ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. ************************************* Students may enter the competition in the following categories: We will be awarding a cash prize to the first, second and third place winners and the first place winners in grade 12 Early and Late French Immersion and grades 11/12 Core French will also be awarded an all expense paid trip to Ottawa, Ontario on May 28, 2005 to compete in the CPF National Concours d’art oratoire. First place winners at the National Concours will receive a $20,000 scholarship ($5,000 per year), per 1st place winner in each of the five categories, to the University of Ottawa. We are looking forward to working with the students, teachers, and the volunteer judges, parents and students who help make this day a success each year.
