April 25, 2002   Dear CPF Members and Friends, Canadian Parents for French New Brunswick is pleased to announce our 2002 Annual General Meeting to take place the weekend of May 31st – June 1st at the Best Western Crystal Palace Hotel in Dieppe.

 The theme of this year’s meeting is:  CPF’s 25th anniversary – Proud of Two Languages for 25 years!

We will kick-off the weekend on May 31st with a “Meet and Greet” beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Atlantic Room.  Munchies, a Cash Bar and musical entertainment will be provided.  All CPF members and supporters are invited to join our celebration.

On Saturday, join us at 9:30 for our Annual General Meeting in the East Coast-Maritime-Atlantic Room.  Mr. Denis Losier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Assumption Life will be our guest speaker at 10:00 a.m.  He will be speaking about the importance of bilingualism to business and economic development in New Brunswick.  Mr. Losier has been named Manager of the Year for 2002 by the Conseil économique du Nouveau-Brunswick.  He is also a volunteer for the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation, the Moncton Rotary Club, the Workers Investment Fund, Corporate Communications Ltd., Canadian National, the Council for Canadian Unity and other organizations.  Additional special guests include Mr. Ian Richmond, Vice-President of the CPF National Board of Directors; Mr. Jim Stevenson, Superintendent of School District 2; and Francine LeBlanc, Program Officer, Department of Canadian Heritage.

The Honourable Marilyn Trenholme Counsell, Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick will be our keynote speaker at the President’s Luncheon at noon.  Following lunch with the Lieutenant Governor, CPF NB’s Provincial Board of Director’s business meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. 

We have well-supervised, entertaining bilingual activities planned for children ages 5 to 12, so bring the “kids” along with you.
